This case is an excellent case demonstrating that, not only do patients often not mention nonprescription drugs they are taking unless specifically asked, but they often do not report their past medical history accurately. For instance, this patient supposedly has no past medical history despite taking anti-hypertensive medications and nitroglycerin. For many patients if they are not currently having any issues, ie their issues are controlled, they will not report them as medical problems.
